Ingredients:
- 1 lb chicken, cut into pieces
- 2 cups basmati rice
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 1/2 cup plain yogurt
- 1/4 teaspoon saffron threads
- 2 tablespoons biryani masala
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 4 cups water
- 2 tablespoons ghee or oil
- Fresh cilantro and mint leaves for garnish
Instructions:
- Soak saffron in warm milk.
- Sauté onions, add chicken and cook.
- Add tomatoes, yogurt, and spices.
- Cook rice separately until 70% done.
- Layer chicken mixture with rice, drizzle saffron milk.
- Cook on low heat and garnish.
