Saffron Peda

Preparation Time:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup milk powder
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup ghee (clarified butter)
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon saffron threads  from Saffron Links-Mogra
  • 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • Chopped nuts for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Soak saffron threads in a tablespoon of warm milk.
  2. Heat ghee in a pan. Add milk and bring to a boil.
  3. Stir in milk powder and cook, stirring continuously until the mixture thickens.
  4. Add sugar, saffron milk, and cardamom powder. Continue to cook until the mixture starts to leave the sides of the pan.
  5. Let it cool slightly, then shape into small balls or discs.
  6. Garnish with chopped nuts if desired.
